I used to like drawing pictures and manga, but after graduating from high school I completely forgot about it! Recently I started to draw again, to illustrate my translation of English poems.

子どものときに絵を描くことが好きでしたが、その後長い間すっかり忘れていました。絵を見ることは大好きで、美術館に一日中でもいられるほどですが...

そんなある日、研究の一環として英詩を翻訳しているとき、イメージが浮かんでイラストを描いてみたら、楽しくて再び描くようになりました。そのうち色をつけたくなって、徐々に水彩やパステル画をはじめました。

仕事や研究のあいまに、時間の許す限りこれからも描いていきたいと思います。

I got into Celtic Music around the year 2000 and recorded our music. I played the Irish flute, and Fubito played the Celtic harp (he has a very small, cute one!). Enjoy! (the link to the performance is down below)

I got my PhD degree at Leiden University, The Netherlands, in 2011, for my study of English women poets in the 19tn century. The promotion ceremony is called "Promotie" in Dutch. The title of my doctoral dissertation was "Recasting Women's Stories". Please find the link to my thesis in the page of "Publications" in this homepage.

遠藤が言語学プロジェクトの一員としてオランダのライデン大学に留学した際、私も帯同しました。そして個人でライデン大の英文学科教授にコンタクトをとり、博士候補生として研究を続けることになりました。厳しい指導を受け、やっと2011年5月10日にライデン大学講堂にて口頭試問と博士号授与式を行いました。オランダ語ではこれをプロモウティー（Promotie）と言います。たいへん興味深い経験をさせていただきました。
